It’s the New Year…

Sometimes the new year annoys me. I don’t like the look-backs and the compilations of the “Year’s Best” simply because we do it every year. It gets old.

So instead of looking back, I’d like to take a moment to look forward into the coming year and elucidate my goals for this blog.

As you may have noticed, I’ve been playing with different content ideas for awhile now, trying to find out what works, what I have time for, what others might be interested in.

Ok, so what’s the plan?

And while I don’t think I’ve quite hit the nail on the head, here are some of the things I’d like for this blog:

  • More personal stories and images of my day-to-day life.

It’s hard for me to get really personal online. That’s one of the reasons I exist under a pseudonym (the nerd in me loves that the way I phrased that). But I’d like to try and open myself up more. The blogs I read and like best are those that mash up personal stories with whatever topic the blog covers. I’d like to try my hand at that.

  • Since I love history and cool stories from the past, I’ll still continue to bring you different articles about interesting historical stuff and other things I want to learn about.
  • I’d like to include more writing articles. If you’re here as a reader, my research has told me that you’re interested in how a writer writes (nerd). It’s taken me a lot of learnin’ to get here, and I’ve still got a long way to go. So if you’re a writer, maybe some of these posts will help you.
  • Follow me along the path to a new book from idea to launch. Right now I’m in the planning stages – I’ll write a post about that soon. But what else do I do to create and market a book from Idea to Launch? Stay tuned and I’ll keep you in the loop.
Not my workspace – but it’s close.

I don’t have specific deadlines for things, but I’ll probably try to keep the blog updated at least once or twice a month. I tend to blog at work, or in the afternoon when my fiction brain is dead, so I’ll post as often as I have free time in either of those slots in my day.
